On Saturday 15 June at 17:00 we will officially open the Educational Garden in Volkstuinpark Sloterdijkermeer!
Cityplot and I can change the world with my two hands have been working hard with a group of volunteers in setting up this project over the past few months. The garden shows different urban farming techniques that can be used in small spaces, allowing expertise and information to be exchanged between gardeners and urban dwellers of all ages.
The garden was developed during workshops with experts including Alma Huisken, Edwin Flores, Linder van Heerik, Fransjan de Waard, Flora and Joke from the Wilde Bertram, Nina Holland, Meester Bert, Sylvia Wozniak, Lynn Shore and Valerie Turner. Their expertise was used to create the following beds: mushrooms, wild plants, edible flowers, herbs, bio-dynamic, permaculture, dye plants, heritage vegetables, seed saving and a children’s bed. Demonstrations and tours will be given during the opening celebrations.
Come enjoy the garden, meet interesting people, and sample delicious wild drinks and treats!
