DETOX YOUR HOME AND SURROUNDINGS

In a 2009 study, more than 200 synthetic chemicals were found in the umbilical cords of newborn babies. Most of these chemical contaminants originated in the everyday consumer products found on supermarket shelves. Think about the bleach we flush down the drain, as well as the flowery-smelling laundry detergent and the cosmetics, perfumes, disinfectants, sunscreen, shampoo, birth control pills, antibiotics and so forth that end up in our water supply and in the bodies of other creatures including fish, frogs, birds and mammals.

It is the sad truth that our lives are full of synthetic chemicals and hormones that impact the health and nervous systems of humans and other creatures. We are swimming in this chemical soup, and we still don’t know enough about the long-term health effects. Toxic chemicals affect women’s fertility and impact newborn babies and children at a much higher level than the grown men who are often the test subjects for studies. A recent study showed that our pet dogs are exposed to and accumulate these same chemicals, leading to an increased risk of canine cancer. It’s time to rid our homes and our environments of toxic chemicals.

It’s easy to switch to cleaner, non-toxic products in your home.
