Pluk! Groenten van West is Cityplot's new Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) project. A CSA is a concrete step in helping to transform the current broken food system in the direction of food sovereignty. The idea is that members pay a flat annual membership fee for weekly fresh veggie boxes. Instead of consuming food grown in monocultures on the other side of the world, you can pick your own fresh ingredients and get to know your farmers personally. You save costs by cutting out the middleman, you save the climate by picking up your own food close to home, and you support local farming instead of the supermarket.

Pluk! Groenten van West is taking place in partnership with the beautiful Fruittuin van West, a pick-your-own orchard full of apples, pears, cherries, berries and chickens to the west of Amsterdam. Kiki and Ann will grow veggies, herbs and edible flowers on half a hectare around the perimeters of this farm, together with a big crew of volunteer seeders, weeders and harvesters.

We are currently welcoming members and volunteers for our first season. If you're interested in hearing more, please send a mail to plukcsa@cityplot.org.

We look forward to showing you around the Pluk! Groenten van West garden!
