“Since ancient times, gardens have helped people bridge the gap between doing on the one hand and being on the other.” – Sue Stuart-Smith, The Well-Gardened Mind
Connect with the rhythm of the seasons. Celebrate the arrival of Spring with our Mindful Gardening—an immersive experience that combines seasonal gardening techniques with mindfulness practices. This unique workshop is designed to help you align with the natural rhythms seen in nature, cultivating a sense of calm, presence, and connection to your environment. Taking inspiration from the art of noticing, which is central to both permaculture and mindfulness, we invite you to take time off screens and to be in the present in nature. Consider this a digital detox for modern life to help you reconnect with yourself and your environment by getting your hands in the soil. You’ll be joining and building a community of fellow urban gardeners.
Guided by Alice & Amy, you’ll explore how to:
Practice mindfulness through simple meditation exercises. Learn to cultivate the art of noticing, slow down from the daily rush, practice being present with what you’re doing.
Prepare and care for your garden according to the season, with practical hands-on knowledge—whether your garden is a balcony box, raised bed, backyard or rooftop.
Observe seasonal rhythms in your garden and in nature, gathering inspiration from selected short stories and poems, and tips on what to look for in the season ahead.
Each workshop focuses on the unique opportunities of the current season—planting seeds in spring, nurturing growth in summer, harvesting and gratitude in autumn, or preparing for rest and renewal in winter. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a curious beginner, you'll leave with practical knowledge, a refreshed spirit, and seasonal inspiration to apply at home.
Join us to cultivate your garden and your mind, one season at a time.
Note: We plan to offer this workshop once each season. Participants in the spring session will have an early bird opportunity (and discount) to sign up for the following three sessions.
