Description:
“Be where you are, otherwise you will miss your life.” - Buddha
Practicing Presence in Permaculture involves deep observation, deep attentiveness and fully immersed action…this comes from a place within.
Over the years, I have - without having had a plan to do as such - spent more and more time during each day completely in the present. This is a simply wonderful way of being, not dredging through the past or projecting into the future; just completely absorbed in the present moment, fully alert and open to what each second holds.
My personal foot in the door to this dimension, so to say, has had a great deal to do with Permaculture.
Over time, I have become progressively aware that the more I practice Permaculture methods - those such as soil ecology and building, water management, biodiversity and community - the more I realize that tuning into the pure magic and wonder of what is, the more humbling the experience, alive and connected I feel.
This has guided me to tap into our shared, universal heartbeat, and to respond to each task at hand on a level that is conducted by profound observation and intuition.
Being outdoors in all seasons and experiencing the joy each seasonal shift holds, opening a child-like curiosity to the world, experiencing the interconnectedness of all - I would like to share this with you if you feel the same!
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” - Rumi

LEONIE WOIDT-WALLISSER
After a laborious journey through the heights and depths of life’s experiences, I was hit by a metaphorical ‘bolt of lightning’ some time ago.
Times preceding this huge transformation lead me onto a new path - or should I say - the focus has been shifted from adding a spiritual element to what I do, to living and breathing this spirituality.
We all in essence are the life breath and consciousness of the Universe: and if you are reading this, and feel it resonate with you on whatever level, you may be aware that you are also drawn to this connection.
I welcome you with a full heart to partake on this journey together.
What to expect on a Permaculture & Presence day at Wald&Wild:

16:30 - 17:00 - Packing up, short closing circle
17:00 - 18:00 - Walk to train station
18:12 - Return travel to Berlin
Explanation:
We will all meet at the Groß Schönebeck train station platform at 9:07 LINK.
Please find your own way here!
From the train station, after a brief verbal explanation describing our focus for the day, we will walk together in silence to the site (roughly 45 minutes) and remain without speech until return to the train station.
Please ensure that you can allow yourself to have all mobile devices either off, or on airplane mode for the day.
We begin at Wald&Wild in meditation together at the Fire Circle from 10:00 - 10:30. From here, we will undertake a Permaculture-based activity in the group - this could consist of activities ranging from creating a dead-wood hedge through to creating an insect hotel, to name but two examples. I will send you relevant information in advance via email should it be necessary.
You are, however, not expected to be an expert about any particular task, and through simply observing for whatever period of time you require, you join in when you are ready. The tasks may be simple and repetitive. In my experience, this is a wonderful opportunity to fully feel, see, act, be - and to quieten mind activity, allowing the present moment in...
There is also time in which you can be completely on your own and walk around or swim in the lake, go into the forest, meditate, sunbathe, rest etc. after our lunch.
At the end of each day after packing up, there will be a short closing circle and then we will leave the site to return to the train station.
Practicalities:
Please wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear. If you have the tendency to get cold, make sure you are well insulated…
Food and drinks for lunch will be provided (we will make a meal together) - bring additional snacks if desired. Please bring your own water bottle, refills are available on site.
W.C.’s are compost, and clearly signed.
How do the Permaculture & Presence days differ from Cityplot Workdays?
The Cityplot Workdays take place on each Tuesday from April - October. The focus on these days is learning by doing, through Permaculture methods in the landscape. There is usually a spoken explanation of what requires doing in any particular week, a demonstration, and then the task is carried out. As regular attendees become familiar with specific tasks, they will be called on to explain and demonstrate to others.
Both the Cityplot Workdays as well as the Permaculture & Presence days practice Permaculture through activity. The Cityplot Workdays, however, are more social, as we are not engaged in silence. More information here
